|Bill Catacosinos is Managing Partner at Laurel Hill. He was Chairman and CEO at TNP Enterprises, Inc. from April 2000 until its sale to PNM Resources, Inc. in June 2005.Prior to the formation of Laurel Hill, Bill served as Chairman and CEO of Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO) from 1984 to 1998. In 1984, this utility was essentially bankrupt over the refusal of the State of New York and the County of Suffolk to participate in a local evacuation plan required for the licensing of its nuclear power plant. This refusal delayed and prevented the plant from receiving a federal license to operate at full power. Bill guided the company through the contentious political waters which ultimately led to the plant receiving a full operating license and the sale of the plant and the company's transmission and distribution business, in two transactions, to an agency created by the State of New York. As part of the second transaction, the company's gas and generation business was merged with KeySpan Energy. During Bill's tenure, LILCO's management team was completely rebuilt and a new culture of efficiency and customer service was inculcated throughout the organization. Prior to joining LILCO, Bill was a founder and served 13 years as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Applied Digital Data Systems, Inc., Hauppauge, New York, a manufacturer of computer terminals and small business computers. He was also a founder, Chairman and Treasurer of Corometrics Medical Systems, Inc., Wallingford, Connecticut, a company that pioneered fetal heart monitoring. From 1957 to 1969, he was Assistant Director at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, New York, and from 1953 to 1956 served as an officer in the United States Navy.Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree, a Masters degree in Business Administration and a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University.|
